Teams will be looking for one last win for the year and hoping to take some momentum into 2013.
BLTC Rising Sun take on Spring Gully Bigpond on courts one, five and six.
The men’s singles will be a key, with Bigpond’s Jack Baker, Brad Slingo and Jayd Davis up against Michael Smyth, Zoltan Smyth and Fraser McCarthy.
In the women’s, Heather Robbins and Lani Hamilton will be up against Rebecca Tweed and Tova Penno from Rising Sun.
The depth of Rising Sun should clinch an 8-4 victory.
South Bendigo Metro takes on Spring Gully Butterflies on courts two, seven and eight.
The resurgence of the Metro in recent weeks has been one of the feelgood stories of the year for Bendigo tennis, and it now sits just one point behind Bigpond, which is fifth on the ladder.
The depth of the Metro men’s line-up has been a positive all year, and there are key match-ups across the board in the singles.
Andrew Lethlean, Zac Lethlean, Sam McHarg and Isaac Watson from Metro will battle the Butterflies’ Matt Hartland, Shane Burke, Jayden Baber and Rob Gallagher.
It will be a close battle, but Metro will take some much needed momentum into next year after a 7-5 victory.
BLTC Shish tackles Spring Gully Brougham Arms on courts 9, 10 and 11.
It’s a rematch of last summer’s grand finalists, but Shish has gone to another level this year, while Brougham Arms are hanging on to fourth spot and a finals berth.
The Brougham will be more desperate for a win, but the depth and talent of Shish looks too much.
The Garwood brothers, Curt and Ward, along with Al Baker and Nick Thomas will keep the pressure on Broughie opponents Jamie Brown, Paul Condliffe, Chris Chiappazzo and Sam Storer.
Ash Baker and Jess Hartland should have a terrific match.
Shish will be too strong in an 8-4 win.
In section two, match of the round is Spring Gully Panthers against Spring Gully Sensation on courts 16 and 17 at BTA headquarters.
