Lalor raid uncovers weapons, drugs

An investigation into a stolen Bobcat has lead police to a cache of weapons including explosives a crossbow and a Taser which could be linked to an outlaw bikie gang.

Police also seized cannabis, amphetamines and ammunition from a house in Lalor this morning, while searching for evidence related to a Bobcat that was recovered in Campbellfield last weekend.

The raid of a Lacey Street house netted 15 firearms, about half a kilogram of cannabis, a small amount of the drug ice and the explosive gelignite.

A police spokeswoman said the 37-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, both from Lalor, were assisting Darebin criminal investigation unit detectives with their investigation.

She could not confirm any link to outlaw motorcycle group members.
