Lockington-Bamawm United will begin its premiership defence next season with an away trip to take on Letichville-Gunbower.
The Bombers won just one game this year, but they have been one of the most active clubs on the recruiting front during the off-season and are putting together a list that new coach Marty Shadbolt is hopeful of pushing for the top three.
Other games in round one will be this year’s runner-up North Bendigo at home to neighbours White Hills; Huntly hosting Mount Pleasant and Heathcote taking on Elmore.
Colbinabbin has the bye in the opening round before beginning its season in round two against White Hills.
The grand final rematch between Lockington-Bamawm United and North Bendigo will be played at Lockington in round four.
The HDFL will have a general bye on the weekend of May 25 for its inter-league game against Nepean, which is likely to be played at Carlton’s Visy Park.
The HDFL inter-league team will be coached by Murray Collins.
The finals series will start on August 24, with the grand final to be played on September 14.
