The truck was found down an embankment across the Campaspe River near Cobb and Co Road after a caller phone triple zero just before 6.30am this morning.
The collision is believed to have happened around 2am when the south-bound truck moved into the right land and drove off the Calder Freeway, collecting about 30 metres of guard rail.
The truck is then believed to have travelled 15 to 20 metres down an embankment and crossed the Campaspe River.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
