They claim the items were thrown in at the last minute but had not been organised in advance.
Their claims come as Tania Drummond says all money owed to the Duke family will be returned by November 23.
“Everything is supposed to be rectified by November 22 or 23,’’ she said.
“There are still some items not received that we have no payments for.’’
But a person who attended the auction, but does not wish to be named, yesterday said two separate auction items sold for up to $2000 each, but were never produced.
“There were going to be emails about how the payment was supposed to be made, but we never received the tickets so we didn’t pay,’’ the bidder said.
“We will find another way to raise the money for Dakota and get it to the Duke family.’’
The Bendigo Advertiser contacted Mr Nixon for comment in relation to the auction but did not receive a reply before the story was filed.
