Two members from 15 families, chosen by local RSL clubs, will take part in the three-day community residency starting Friday, March 8.
Two professional artists and educators involved in War Horse will host workshops in writing, sound and composition, puppetry and performance.
The group will also travel to the Arts Centre to take part in a backstage tour of the complex and attend a performance of War Horse.
Learning project director Stephanie Hutchinson said it was a chance for the attendees to learn new skills, develop their own creativity and share their personal World War I stories.
“There’s nothing else like this in the world,” she said. “For a production to put so much effort into taking it around the world and creating an education program around it is incredible.”
