THE parents of a missing Bendigo man who vanished almost three weeks ago have not given up hope of finding their son alive.David and Julie Rosewall say the disappearance of 28-year-old Daniel is a complete mystery.Daniel Rosewall was last seen in Bendigo when he arrived for work at the family business on January 27.He asked to borrow the family’s car that afternoon, left work, and never returned.Broken Hill police yesterday were unable to confirm reports Mr Rosewall was spoken to by Kerang police later that evening, or that he withdrew $200 from a Westpac ATM in Broken Hill before buying soft drinks at Silverton, 25km north-west, on January 28. His family reported him missing the same day.Broken Hill police found the family’s red Mazda 3 sedan on the side of the road about 700km from Bendigo the next day, but there was no sign of Mr Rosewall. His mobile phone which had a flat battery wallet and baseball cap were found inside the car. It had no petrol and the keys were in the ignition.“We received a phone call on the Friday night to say that they had found our car in Broken Hill,” David Rosewall said. “We have absolutely no idea why Daniel would go to Broken Hill. “Daniel doesn’t have any friends or connections that we know of in Broken Hill.“I doubt that he had ever even been to Broken Hill before now.”Mr Rosewall’s parents said he had been his normal self on the day he left work and had given no sign he was planning a trip.“Disappearing like this is completely out of character for Daniel,” David Rosewall said.“We are baffled. We have no idea what has happened or where he is.“It is a mystery to us why he would head to Broken Hill in the first place. We just hope that he is safe and well and until we hear any differently, we will stay focused on finding him.”The family has returned to Bendigo after spending almost two weeks in Broken Hill helping police search for their son.“Daniel is a really nice guy and respected by those who know him,” David Rosewall said.“We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those involved in the search for Daniel in Broken Hill.”They have asked anyone who has information about Daniel or who may have seen Daniel to contact Broken Hill police on (08) 8087 0299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
