A TRUCK driver allegedly driving with a suspended licence, will face charges after he failed to see a clearance sign and struck an overpass on the Midland Highway near Downes Street yesterday.Metal met with concrete at 60kmh after the 46-year-old Port Arlington man failed to see a 3.8-metre sign for the train line overpass.The truck and trailer toppled over and slid to a stop blocking both north- and south-bound lanes from about 6.45am until 11am.The driver walked away with minor injuries.He is expected to be charged with failing to observe road signs and driving while suspended.Police allege he was also unable to produce a log book at the scene.The accident caused chaos for motorists and V/Line passengers who faced lengthy delays as police diverted traffic to alternative routes.Sergeant Nicky Goodison from Castlemaine police said trains were delayed for about half-an-hour after the crash.Heavy lifting equipment was called to hoist the truck, which was owned by a local trucking company.
