Bendigo woman Mary Gastin will become a centenarian, celebrating her 100th birthday today.

Mary was born on January 23 1918 on a dairy farm in Tennyson, she married Jim Gastin before they moved to Melbourne in 1940 where they had their four children Carmel, Pauline, Michael and Terry.
The couple moved to Bendigo where they purchased the Manchester Arms Hotel in 1953, holding onto the business until 1982.
Mrs Gastin said her 100th birthday celebration milestone “to me, is just another day”.
“I have a wonderful family that has always supported me throughout all of my life,” Mrs Gastin said.
“We had a lovely celebration last weekend with all of my grandchildren and great-grandchildren.”
