The Bendigo Family Nature Club plan to discover fossils and uncover the region’s ancient asteroid strikes.
It is not the first trip the group has taken children out into the wild.
Junior explorers could take up to ten activities every year, all of which were coordinate by BFNC volunteers.
Earlier this year the group took children out to the Harcourt Oak Forest, where they learnt about different types of fungi.
The group’s mantra was to connect with nature via science, art and play.
Places for the coming weekend’s trip were limited.
To register visit or to find out more information about the group’s activities search for the group on Facebook or email Bendigonatureclub@gmail.com
The time walk excursion will be supported by Bendigo Sustainability Group and Bendigo Field Naturalists Club.
