AUSTRALIA’S Isaiah Firebrace has walked the red carpet in Kyiv at the Eurovision Song Contest opening ceremony, ahead of what will arguably be the biggest performance of his life to date.
The 17-year-old from Echuca-Moama will take to the stage in the first semi-final on Tuesday (from 4am Wednesday, Australian Eastern Standard Time), competing against 17 other countries which include Sweden, Albania, Belgium and Finland.
If he makes it to the final with his number Don’t Come Easy, he will perform again on Saturday (Sunday AEST) against the nine other final qualifiers, plus host country Ukraine and the ‘big five’: Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and France.
Eurovision is broadcast on SBS from May 12 to 14.
