THE man who shot someone in the leg prior to a five-hour siege in Eaglehawk in January has been sentenced to one year and 11 months in prison without parole.
Ricky John Darmody, 46, pleaded guilty to three charges and summary offences in the Bendigo County Court on Tuesday in relation to the January 10 siege.
He faced two charges of reckless conduct endangering life and one charge of prohibited person using a firearm.
The summary charges referred to dealing with explosives without approval.
Darmody's arrest came after police closed off Kirkwood Road at Turnbull Street and Sailors Gully Road.
The siege took place at a property on Red Hill Court, Eaglehawk.
Police at the scene said multiple shots were fired and one man suffered a minor gunshot wound to the leg.
Judge Richard Maidment ordered Darmody to complete a three-year community corrections order, to begin after his term of imprisonment.
He must also complete 200 hours of unpaid community work and undergo assessment and treatment for drug abuse and mental health problems.
