UPDATE, MONDAY 11.25AM: THE man charged after a five-hour siege in Eaglehawk on Saturday did not apply for bail at the Bendigo Magistrates Court on Monday.
Ricky John Darmody, 46, appeared via video link.
The prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Alan Walker said Darmody had not yet been deemed fit for police interview.
He was yet to undergo a comprehensive medical examination following his arrest at 6.25pm on Saturday.
Darmody faces six charges, including attempted murder.
Other charges include two firearms offences, storing an unauthorised explosive device, possession of ammunition without a license and reckless conduct endangering life.
He will face a committal hearing on April 15.
UPDATE, SUNDAY 4.35PM: Detectives from the Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit have charged a 46-year-old man following a firearms incident in Eaglehawk yesterday.
The Eaglehawk man has been charged with attempted murder, conduct endangering life and firearms offences.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
UPDATE, SUNDAY 9.10AM: A 46-year-old man arrested over a siege in Eaglehawk on Saturday is yet to charged.
Acting Sergeant Peter Dyer said police investigators would travel from Melbourne today to process the crime scene at Red Hill Court.
He said it was likely charges would be laid sometime late Sunday.
He said the man would appear in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Acting Sergeant Dyer said the man was facing "serious charges" relating to firearm possession, assault, explosives and conducting danger of life.
UPDATE, 9.30PM: Police now believe several dozen shots were fired over the course of the incident with one male receiving a minor gunshot wound to his leg in Redhill Court about 1.30pm.
The man did not require medical attention.
Exact figures on the number of shots fired won't be available until the scene is processed tomorrow.
Acting Sergeant Peter Dyer said the offender would face court on Monday.
UPDATE, 7.51PM: A 46-year-old man is expected to face "serious charges" relating to firearms, explosives and endangering life following a siege in Eaglehawk on Saturday.
Police alleged the man fired seven shots and threatened to blow up his property.
Bendigo police Acting Sergeant Peter Dyer said members were called to a home in Redhill Court about 2pm following a report shots had been fired.
He said police attempted to negotiate with the man.
The Critical Incident Response Team, dog squad and special operations group were called to assist.
"We were dealing with an extremely angry male offender who was threatening to blow up the premises he was in as well," Acting Sergeant Dyer said.
The man was arrested at 6.25pm. No one was injured during the arrest, Acting Sergeant Dyer said.
"He (had) a small incendiary-type device that has been disarmed (which) was found in the property," he said.
Acting Sergeant Dyer said a man who was wandering in Kirkwood Road during the operation was the son of the alleged offender.
He said police spoke to the man but did not arrest him.
Acting Sergeant Dyer said police also received information a man was shot at another premises but it was too early to be confirmed.
The 46-year-old man will be taken back to Bendigo Police Station and interviewed.
He is expected to be charged late Saturday night.
UPDATE 7pm: About seven shots were fired in total, police have told media.
The man, who was in a Redhill Court property, was refusing to negotiate with police in the first instance and was making threats to blow up the premises, Acting Sergeant Peter Dyer said.
He is expected to face "serious charges" tonight, Acting Sergeant Dyer said.
The man who was wandering in the street was spoken to by police but was not arrested or charged. He was also escorted from the scene without a shirt.
UPDATE 6.45pm: A 46-year-old Eaglehawk man is in custody.
The man was arrested by police about 6.25pm and is currently assisting them with their inquiries.
Investigators do not believe that anyone was injured during the incident.
UPDATE 6.40pm: It is believed police have the situation controlled.
UPDATE 6.24pm: Police have escorted a man wearing no shirt down Kirkwood Road.
A MICA paramedic has arrived on scene.
UPDATE 6.20pm: A police operation in Eaglehawk is approaching its fifth hour.
It is believed the man who allegedly fired shots earlier today is aged in his 50s while a man believed to be his nephew who has been wandering on Kirkwood Road is aged in his 20s.
A critical response team has left the police road block and moved deep into Kirkwood Road.
UPDATE 5.55pm: It is believed the man the critical response team were speaking to on Kirkwood Road did not fire the shots.
He is the nephew of the man believed to have fired the shots from a property near Redhill Court earlier today.
UPDATE 5.44pm: The man the critical response team were talking to has fled Kirkwood Road.
UPDATE 5.32pm: Other critical response team members have approached Redhill Court from other entrances.
UPDATE 5.25pm: Critical response police officers are approaching a man wandering near Redhill Court.

Police have asked media to move to the entrance of Kirkwood Road due to the dangerous nature of the situation.
It is believed a man in the vicinity of Kirkwood Road has a 22 calibre rifle.

The man wandering on Kirkwood Road was given a pack of cigarettes after he shouted abuse at police.
He has since stopped yelling.
UPDATE 3.40pm: Victoria Police has released a statement on the incident, it reads:
"Police are currently at the scene of an alleged firearms incident which occurred in Eaglehawk this afternoon.
"Emergency services received reports of a man discharging a firearm in the vicinity of Redhill Court around 1.30pm.
"The area is cordoned off and police are currently trying to resolve the situation.
"A number of roads are blocked off and police ask the public to avoid the area until further notice.
"Anyone with further information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppers.com.au

A man can be seen wandering on Kirkwood Road about 200 metres from a police road block just before Turnbull Street.
The Bendigo Advertiser heard two shots fired.
EARLIER: A police operation is under way in Eaglehawk.
Members have blocked off Kirkwood Road at Turnbull Street and Sailors Gully Road.
No traffic is permitted into the area.
