THE Bendigo Dragons have recruited three American imports for the upcoming Gridiron Victoria season.
Luke Rosengarten, Demontrez Simington and Robert Norris Jr have signed on to play with the Dragons in 2014.
Club president Dave Barker said the American trio would play an important part to the team's structure.
“These players have grown up playing American Football as their first nature,” he said.
“To have that wealth of knowledge joining our program, it will fast track the skill level of Bendigo's local players.”
Norris, who plays offensive line, said he was looking forward to playing in Bendigo.
“Football has played an integral part of my development as an athlete and person,” he said.
“I look forward to spreading the values of leadership, camaraderie and determination.
“I hope that my time in Bendigo will help further promote American Football in a variety of communities."
This season the Dragons moved up to Gridiron Victoria’s Division One competition.
Head coach Robert Hunter said the three American players would help improve his team.
“The Americans will add some much needed experience to our team, a perfect complement to the many great players we are already developing," he said.
The 2014 Gridiron Victoria season kicks off on the first weekend in May. Bendigo will play home games at the Tom Flood Sports Centre.
