CHRISTMAS for many is a time to enjoy the company of families and friends, but for others their loneliness and isolation is magnified. For the past two years Bendigo’s less fortunate and homeless have enjoyed a free Christmas lunch at the Bendigo Town Hall.Epicentre United is again putting on the Bendigo Community Christmas lunch and director Jason Harrison is hoping to attract between 250-300 people. The two course meal is being prepared by Rob Holden from the Bendigo Pottery.Mr Harrison said the event costs about $8000 to put on and already half has been raised through donations. The Epicentre started when Mr Harrison and four mates, all from different churches, wanted to foster cross-denominational community support and spirit.“We want to love the community and bless them,” Mr Harrison said. One hundred volunteers have already signed up to help.To register for the lunch or to pledge your support visit www.epicentreunited.com.au
