Club president Louise Rutledge said the club had currently raised $22,000 and if they were able to raise an additional $3,500, both the junior and senior teams would be able to attend the championships.
“We would really appreciate the help,” she said.
“It is a great activity to keep the children busy and it is an opportunity to participate in something which is different.”
The club is dedicated to the development of its members by teaching them the skills required to partake in drill dance but also the team work, commitment and skills that are necessary.

As it currently stands, the senior team will be attending. However, the junior team risks missing out on the opportunity if the funds are not raised in time.
During the last season the club doubled in size because of the introduction of the latest junior team which caters for both boys and girls aged between 6-12-years-old.
“The highlight of the season will be for all the children to be able to compete at the finals, they have done the hard work and it would be a shame for them to not have the reward of that,” she said.
Drill dance was once known as marching and has undergone monumental changes in recent years in order to be recognised as a modern sport.
