Goornong Galaxy was transferred to Dwyer’s stables last year and will have his first start for the two-time Group 1-winning trainer in an 1100m maiden.
The four-year-old had six starts for Weir for a pair of seconds and thirds.
He finished sixth at his most recent start at Pakenham in July last year.
Goornong Galaxy will be the only starter on the eight-race card for Dwyer, who notched a metropolitan double with Savaju and Excitement early last month at Moonee Valley.
Meanwhile, dual city winner Weave will continue his comeback to racing in a 2200m benchmark 64 handicap.
The five-year-old gelding scored back-to-back wins at Moonee Valley late last year before plans to run him in the $150,000 Bagot Handicap on New Year's Day at Flemington were skittled due to injury.
Weave has had one run back from a 10-week lay-off when he finished unplaced over 1400m at Ballarat on February 25.
Both of his Moonee Valley wins came over the much longer 3000m distance.
His rivals include the recent Weir-trained Warrnambool 2000m winner High Energy.
