8.47pm: Wow. Kell O’Brien goes bang and reels in Plowright and Evans in the blink of an eye. Both teams now out in front and attempting to take a lap.

8.38pm: A tumble between the green team (Stopler and Grassman) and Plapp and Bof. Riders ok. Both teams continuing.
8.36pm: Plowright and Evans were within touching distance of gaining a lap before Welsford and O’Brien set up a surge by the main group.
8.32pm: 3 sprints down and we have a breakaway. Youngsters Brad Evans and Jensen Plowright have a half lap lead of the pack and they’re picking up points as they go.
8.27pm: Nick Yallouris and Jordan Kerby strike in the first sprint. 5 points to them. Howard and Scott second. Welsford and O’Brien third.
8.25pm: We’re underway in the Symes Motors BMW Bendigo Madison.

8.01pm: Time now to prepare for the Bendigo Madison. 15 minutes until race time.
8pm: Ruby Roseman-Gannon does it again. The women’s Madison champion wins the women’s A-grade scratch race.
7.50pm: A win for Richmond fans. Paddy Turner is the son of former Richmond defender Scott Turner.
7.41pm: Paddy Turner wins the Black Opal 400m final in fine style. Bendigo’s Jake Hilson unplaced.
7.35pm: Black Opal 400m final time and the good news is that Bendigo’s Jake Hilson did qualify for the final.
7.34pm: Hometown win for Bendigo’s Jacob Nolan in the Backmarkers Mile.
Racing off 130m, Nolan took the lead with more than a lap to go and never looked like being headed in the final 400m.
7.25pm: Check out some of the faces in the crowd at tonight’s madison carnival.
7.20pm: Gilmore’s biggest win of his career. Fourth time Brendan Schultz has been on the podium in the Golden Mile, including a win in 2009.
7.10pm: 15m behind scratch proved too much for Sam Welsford and it was Tassie’s Zac Gilmore who pipped Bendigo’s Brendan Schultz to win the Golden Mile.
Welsford made up a huge amount of ground to finish fourth, but Gilmore and Schultz were too far ahead.
Schultz looked the winner on the home turn, but Gilmore overhauled him in the final 50m.
Gilmore is recovering from a second bout of chemotherapy.
7.07pm: Golden Mile riders being introduced. My tip is Josh Harrison to upstage Welsford, Leigh Howard, Yallouris, Kell O’Brien and co.
7pm: Riders warming up for the Golden Mile Wheelrace final. Sam Welsford chasing an historic third-straight win.
Bendigo’s Finn Poxon, Mitchell Barrow, Josh Thomson, Emerson Julian and Brendan Schultz in the final.
6.50pm: The favourite Rupert Lugo gave punters plenty to cheer about when he cruised to victory in the Bendigo Thousand.
6.40pm: Kayla Lemm too good in the Bendigo Thousand women’s gift.
6.33pm: Nick Yallouris causes an upset in Invitation Kierin final. Yallouris held off Sam Welsford in final 50m to win event for second-straight year.
6.30pm: Jake Hilson a gallant 4th in his semi-final, but unlikely to be quick enough time to make the final.
6.24pm: Bendigo’s Lonain Burnett outside of the top four in his semi-final and he won’t make the final.
Paddy Turner won semi-final two off 27m handicap. Time was 47.22 seconds.
6.21pm: Josh Evans was the fastest qualifier in the heats of the Black Opal and he further enhanced his favouritism tag with a comfortable semi-final win in 47.29 seconds.
6.16pm: Time now for the semi-finals of the lucrative Black Opal 400m.

Winner of each semi-final and the next 6 fastest times through to the final later tonight.
6.12pm: Bendigo Women’s Madison winner Sam de Ritter continues her good form by winning the 100m women’s handicap.
Elizabeth Nuspan second, with Vanessa Goos third.
6.05pm: Heats of the Invitation Kierin have been run and won. Leigh Howard was a brilliant winner of heat one. Howard took off around the field with 600m to go and held off Godfrey Slattery in the fial 50m.
In heat two, Sam Welsford didn’t get out of first gear and cruised to victory from Japanese rider Minori Shimmura.
Final on in 30 minutes.
6pm: Welcome all to night two of the Bendigo International Madison carnival.
Another hot day in Bendigo today and the action on the cycling and athletics tracks will be just as hot tonight.
The feature finals are scheduled to start from around 6.35pm.
The Kierin final is at 6.35pm followed by the women’s Bendigo Thousand athletics race at 6.40pm.
The Bendigo Thousand for men is at 6.45pm followed by the Golden Mile Wheelrace at 7.10pm.
The Backmarkers Mile for athletics is at 7.30pm before the Black Opal 400m final at 7.40pm.
We’ll have a couple of scratch races on the bike track before the Bendigo International Madison starts at about 8.20pm.
