The Greyhound Adoption Program was held at Lord’s Raceway in Junortoun for two hours on Sunday.
Greyhound Racing Victoria public affairs co-ordinator Suzanne McKenzie said they were delighted to see so many people in Bendigo eager to adopt greyhounds.
“It was fantastic, a terrific adoption day. People from in and around Bendigo came along and adopted greyhounds,” she said.
“There was one dog left, a two-year-old. I'm not sure why she was left, but I imagine she won't last long before someone adopts her.
“As fast as more greyhounds go out, more come in, so there's always plenty on offer.
“Some are dogs that raced and retired, others never raced for one reason or another.”
The Greyhound Adoption Program is based at Seymour and has greyhounds available all year round.
