The City of Greater Bendigo is urging commuters to seek alternative options to work, such as riding, walking or taking public transport.
The relay will travel from near the Queen Elizabeth Oval down View Street, then along Pall Mall to Chapel Street and make a loop through Hargreaves, Williamson and Myers Streets, before heading out along Napier Street to Lake Weeroona where the Baton will depart Bendigo.
An official welcome for the Baton Relay, which is on its way to the Gold Coast for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, will be held at Rosalind Park Piazza at 9am.
City of Greater Bendigo tourism and major events manager Terry Karamaloudis said it was fantastic for Bendigo to be able to host the relay.

“We understand the route will inconvenience people who work in the CBD and the many businesses in the CBD, but we hope that people will be able to make alternative arrangements for the morning,” he said.
“We encourage commuters to ride, walk or take public transport to work, or to arrange someone to drop them off at the edge of the exclusion zone.”
Eighteen people have been chosen to carry the baton through the city streets, two of whom recently described it as an honour.
