The Kids on Tour program, which takes its inspiration from exhibitions at the NGV over the summer break, stops off at the Latrobe Art Institute on Thursday between 11am and 1pm.
Among the activities on offer to young participants are paper collage-making and self-portraiture.
Gallery director Tony Ellwood said the youth-focused tour made art accessible to all Victorians.
“NGV kids programs inspire and foster the creativity of thousands of children and teenagers throughout the state,” he said.
In its fifth year, the NGV Kids on Tour is the gallery’s most expansive with more than 50 venues in metropolitan and regional Victoria hosting the event for their community.
The program will also be presented at aged care homes for the first time in 2017.
