The former Sandhurst leg-spinner claimed his biggest Big Bash League scalp when he removed former New Zealand captain and Brisbane Heat skipper Brendon McCullum on Tuesday night at the MCG.
McCullum, who was eventually dismissed for 61 off 42 balls, was the Heat’s only casualty as they overhauled their target of 142 with five overs to spare.
The Heat skipper shared in a 101-run stand with BBL gun Chris Lynn (63 not out) as the Heat cruised to their third win from four matches.
Bowe went for just six runs in his first over before copping some rough treatment in his second.
The 20-year-old, however, fought back bravely to dismiss McCullum when Rob Quiney held on to a catch in the deep.
Bowe finished with 1-21 from two overs.
It was the left-armer’s first BBL match this season for the struggling Stars, who are winless in three games.
