One winner from Eaglehawk won a Division 1 prize pool of $6 million while Maryborough News and Lotto sold two Division 1 winning tickets worth just over $1.4 million each.
The Eaglehawk winner pocketed the fourth-biggest prize of the year. Other central Victorian Division 1 winners were from Sebastopol, Daylesford and Wendouree.
In total central Victorian winners took home $14,876,454 in Division 1 prizes.
Tatts spokesperson Bronnie Spencer said a total of 67 millionaires (including five from central Victoria) were created across Victoria during the 12 month period – the second highest of any Australian state and territory.
“This year will long be remembered by many as a year of big wins for lottery players across Victoria,” she said. “From truck drivers to teachers, retirees to retail workers, each division one winner had a unique story to tell.
“While it’s exciting to reveal where the most lotto wins occur, it’s important to remember that lottery games are entertaining games of chance. Every number on your ticket has an equal chance of being drawn, no matter where you buy your ticket.”
