Emergency services attended the scene on Bracewell Street about 8pm after an Isuzu ute and a motorbike collided.
Sergeant Mick McCrann said it appeared the 41-year-old male driver of the ute was either overtaking or veered onto the wrong side of the road, and collided with the oncoming motorbike head-on.
The girl was being driven on the motorbike, he said.
She was rushed to hospital and then taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital to treat a broken arm.
Sergeant McCrann said investigations were continuing into the exact cause of the crash, and whether the child was legally riding on the back of the motorbike.
