O’Sullivan was elected the Tigers’ president at the club’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday night.
After four years as president, Rob Waters is now the Tigers’ vice-president.
O’Sullivan had been the club’s vice-president for the past two years and has been on the club’s Executive for four years.
“I thank Rob for the hard work he has done as president,” O’Sullivan said.
“For me, it is an honour to be given the opportunity to lead the Kyneton Tigers during the club’s milestone 150th anniversary year.”
A freelance television journalist who worked for Channel Seven for 13 years, O’Sullivan has four sons – Max, Tommy, Ned and Jack – who play for the Tigers.
Max mixed his Kyneton commitments with several appearances in the VFL with Richmond in 2017.
He has re-signed with Richmond for 2018, but will remain aligned with Kyneton.
Tommy is completing a pre-season with VFL club Port Melbourne, Ned will spend 2018 playing with Xavier College and the Kyneton under-18s, while Jack will play in the under-14s.
The senior club went into recess for 12 months in 2013, but has bounced back strongly in the past four years.
The Tigers have more than 300 boys and girls playing junior football and a growing group of women and youth girls footballers.
“Without our grassroots supporters, volunteers and generous sponsors, of which there are many, we simply couldn't operate,” O’Sullivan said.
“With a strong and dedicated executive team, we now want to take the club to the next level, and become a truly community cub for all, including supporters, players, volunteers, families and local businesses.”
As part of their 150th anniversary celebrations, the Tigers are building a Foundation 150 wall in their social rooms.
Kyneton supporters can purchase a personalised gold plaque to be placed on the wall for $150. More details on the plaques are available at kynetonfc.com
