Final leaderboard:
-11 Cameron Davis
-10 Jonas Blixt, Matt Jones
-9 Cameron Smith
-8 Jason Day
-7 Lucas Herbert, Mark Brown
-6 Jordan Spieth
4.30pm: Well played Lucas Herbert – makes par on 18 and finishes at -7 for the event in a tie for 6th.
While it mightn’t have been the finish he wanted, it was a great week for Herbert.
The experience of playing alongside Jason Day was invaluable.
Herbert did finish ahead of Jordan Spieth as well.
4.26pm: Herbert unlikely to make birdie on 18 – long putt from centre of green.
4.25pm: Congratulations to Cam Davis – winner of the Australian Open.
4.15pm: Herbert makes a bogey on the 17th hole to drop to -7. Title and British Open hopes are gone.
4.10pm: Herbert’s tee shot on par-4 17th finds right bunker and his second shot just carries the water to finish short of green. Unless he holes his chip shot his title hopes are officially dashed.
4.03pm: Herbert makes a par on 16 to remain at -8. Day’s birdie putt lips out. he stays -8. Matt Jones has tap-in for birdie on 17 to go to -9. Herbert needs to finish birdie-birdie to have any chance of getting British Open berth.
3.57pm: Herbert finds the green on the 16th, but he has a long birdie putt.
A reminder that Herbert needs to finish inside top 3 to get a spot at next year’s British Open. A tie for 3rd not good enough.
Davis -11 (18)
Blixt -10 (16)
Smith -8 (17)
Jones -8 (16)
Herbert -8 (15)
Day -8 (15)
3.50pm: Herbert recovers well to make par on the 15th – Day does the same. Both players need to birdie their final 3 holes to tie Davis.
3.47pm: 11-under is the mark to beat. Cam Davis makes a birdie on the par-5 18th to sign for a 64 on day 4. Outstanding golf.
3.44pm: Herbert’s tee shot on the par-3 15th misses green to left. Will do well to make par from there.
Herbert needs to finish in top 3 to earn a berth at next year’s British Open.
3.40pm: Herbert’s birdie putt slips by to the right and he stays at -8. Still 2 behind, but that was a missed opportunity. Needs to hold it together here.
3.39pm: Jason Day makes an EAGLE on 14 to get back to -8 – just 2 off the lead.
3.37pm: Herbert’s bunker shot leaves him with 8-foot putt for birdie. Blixt missed birdie putt. That helps.
3.35pm: Herbert’s second shot to 14 finds left bunker. Meanwhile, Blixt hits tee shot on par-3 15th to within six-feet for birdie.
3.32pm: The par-5 14th is a birdie hole and Herbert lets fly with a great drive down the centre of the fairway.
3.30pm: All happening. Smith bogeys and Blixt makes a birdie.
Blixt -10 (14)
Davis -10 (17)
Herbert -8 (13)

3.26pm: Herbert’s 4th shot ends up 15 feet passed the hole. Staring at a double bogey here.
3.24pm: OUCH. Herbert’s chip on the 13th doesn’t find the putting surface.
3.20pm: Trouble for Herbert and Day on the 13th. Both miss green to the left and face tough chip shots.
3.15pm: YES!! Cam Davis misses par putt on 16th to drop back to -10 with Herbert. (Sorry Cam, but we’re unashamedly bias towards our boy Herbie).
3.13pm: Herbert’s par putt on the 12th finds the bottom of the cup. Great play by the 21-year-old. He stays at -10. Day also makes par to remain at -7.
3.12pm: Davis also faces a tough par-putt on the 16th after blasting way out of bunker with his 3rd shot.
3.11pm: Herbert’s 3rd shot ends up five-feet above the hole. Another testing par-putt to come.
3.07pm: Herbert plays a superb second shot out of the trees to be just short of the green on 12. Day also short of the 12th green with his second shot.
3.03pm: Davis makes his par to stay at -11. Herbert at -10. Smith bogeys 13 to drop to -9 with Blixt.
3.03pm: Herbert’s tee shot on the 12th goes way right.
