The Spirit and Capitals share a 2-9 record ahead of their Cluster Round clash at the State Basketball Centre.
All eight WNBL teams play in Melbourne over Saturday and Sunday, with the Spirit versus Capitals game one of two matches to be televised on Fox Sports.
The injury-hit Spirit have lost their past four matches by an average margin of 25 points, but did show some encouraging signs against Dandenong last weekend.
If they can string together a four-quarter performance they will be a chance to upstage the Capitals.
The Spirit’s fortunes – particularly at the offensive end - will again rest heavily on key quartet Gabe Richards, Rachel Banham, Betnijah Laney and Nadeen Payne.
Saturday evening’s game tips-off at 5.30pm.
