A Holden Statesman was turning right from Don into Barnard streets when the driver failed to give way to an oncoming Ford Falcon which was driving through the intersection.
The two vehicles collided head-on, causing extensive damage to both cars.
There were no injuries from the crash however, and police diverted traffic through the intersection. An ambulance was called to the scene as a precaution.
It was the fourth crash in five hours in suburban Bendigo on Monday.
The first was in Epsom when the driver of a mobility scooter travelled into oncoming traffic on Howard Street. He suffered head and back injuries.
The second was a two-car collision at the intersection of Fir and High streets in Golden Square.
The third occurred when a driver collided with a cyclist at the intersection of Barnard and View streets. The cyclist suffered minor injuries.
