Crews will continue to be in the area for some time.
The CFA has advised people located within Wedderburn are now able to resume normal activities.
EARLIER: A grass fire is burning at Mitchell Lane near Wedderburn, prompting a ‘watch and act’ alert for residents of the area.
The fire is not yet under control, with 20 CFA trucks either on scene or en route.
The CFA advises that leaving is the safest option, as grass fires can travel quickly and be extremely dangerous.
Residents of the area are advised to travel to the home of family or friends away from the warning area, taking pets, mobile phones and medications.
If smoke or flames are encountered while travelling, turn around and drive to safety; if this is not possible, a car offers more protection from the heat than being caught in the open.
Ensure roads are kept clear so emergency services can respond.
Those away from homes in the warning area are advised not to return.
People who choose to stay should seek shelter indoors, close all exterior doors, windows and vents, and turn off cooling systems.
It is advised that people shelter in a room with a window to the outside so conditions can be monitored.
