EAGLEHAWK became just the third BDCA club since 2000 to post at least three scores of more than 400 during its run-feast against Bendigo United last Saturday.

Set 233 to win by the Redbacks, the Hawks – led by Jeremy Brown – made light work of the run-chase as they crunched 404 in reply, and still had another 50 balls left unused.

Brown blasted a club record 215 off just 131 balls for the Hawks in what was their third total of more than 400 since 2000, having also smashed 6-489 against Huntly-North Bendigo in 2006-07 and 7-413 against Kangaroo Flat in 2002-03 that also included a Brown (181) masterclass.

Strathdale-Maristians (four) and Bendigo United (three) are the only other clubs to have posted at least three 400-plus scores since 2000.

Only Golden Square and Strathfieldsaye haven’t made more than 400 since 2000, yet neither have had 400 scored against them either.

In total there have been 17 scores of 400-plus since 2000, including two in the same game in round one, 2006-07, when White Hills (7-430) beat Bendigo (8-422).

The game between the Demons and Goers was among five scores of more than 400 during the drought-affected 2006-07 season.

White Hills has conceded the most 400-plus scores since 2000 with five.
