Judges have now had their say on hundreds of entries in this year’s home crafts section.
Cakes, biscuits, slices, jams and preserves were put to the test on Thursday morning, and judge Yvonne Stewart said the standard of entries this year was high.
“It was a beautiful lot of cookery there, and there were entries in most sections… it was quite a challenge,” she said.
Ms Stewart, a judge with the CWA for about 15 years, said entries were judged on their presentation and their taste, including how “true to flavour” they were.

It took about four hours for judges to make their way through all the entries.
“I don’t think I need much for tea tonight, but it’s really a good job,” Ms Stewart said.
Slices and biscuits – particularly yo-yos – are popular entries, as are decorated cupcakes.
Ms Stewart encouraged people to put their own cooking to the test.
“I just think it’s so important to enter and keep our aggy shows going, we don’t want them to die,” she said.
The two-day show is open from 9am Friday and Saturday, at the Prince of Wales Showgrounds.
