The Inspiration Café – Future Movers forum would take place on Thursday from 6.45pm at La Trobe University’s Arts Institute Gallery, with people coming together to discuss new ways of thinking about travel for work, study and play.

Whitmore Bus Group’s Jamie Whitmore said he was interested in attending the Make A Change event to see if there might be possible partnerships to tackle any future emerging traffic congestion issues.
“We have a small peak hour, especially around school drop-off and pick-up times. I think Bendigo is in a position right now to get on top of that and have a world class type of thing,” he said.
In the past year Whitmore Bus Group had become one of the first regional Victorian bus groups to install bike racks on its vehicles. It was part of broader efforts to improve health by encouraging more people to ride or walk at least part way to their destination.
For Bike Bendigo president Jac Torres Gomez, the forum would be a chance to break down barriers, with many cyclists feeling vulnerable or misunderstood when out on the road.
“We know different transport users have concerns, for a wide variety of reasons. Bringing people together, in the same space, for conversations around ‘vulnerability on the road' is an effective start to making a change for Greater Bendigo,” she said.
