“It means a lot to the club because last year was really disappointing,’’ Donaldson said.
“We had a real bad run with injuries, we were written off and we were disappointed that we didn’t make the grand final. To come back this year and play the way we have and then get three flags is a massive effort.”
Donaldson said the Storm had shown great heart to reel in Eaglehawk in the grand final.
“I knew this team had a lot of heart and run because we’ve been through it the past three weeks in three tough finals,’’ Donaldson said.
“If we could get one or two early goals in the final quarter then I thought we’d be okay. Fortunately, Sharpy (Lachlan Sharp) turned it on and when Kal Geary is floating across half-forward you have every reason to feel confident.”
