The game looked set for a gripping climax when scores were locked together at 5.11 apiece entering time-on of the final term.
However, having surrendered the momentum, the Bulldogs regained it over the last 10 minutes to kick away to a 24-point victory, 9.11 (65) to 5.11 (41).
The Bulldogs’ last four goals were kicked by Aaron Knight (two), Michael Rorke and Storm Giri.
The win capped a superb finals series for the Bulldogs, who won the flag having started their campaign from the elimination final after ending the home and away season fifth.
North Bendigo ruckman Brodie Thomson, who was omitted from the senior grand final team, was awarded the best-on-ground medal.
Dean Bowles was White Hills’ best player.
