Francis Boyd never played a senior game for North Bendigo, but he’s every bit as important to the Bulldogs as any of the club’s great players.

2017 is the 50th season Boyd has been the club’s timekeeper.
After joining his father and uncle at the club in 1968, Boyd hasn’t missed a season with his beloved Bulldogs.
“I love the club, I love the people,’’ the North Bendigo life member said on Thursday. “It’s a big family.”
Boyd, 65, has seen all of the club’s six senior premierships and he hopes the Dogs can make it seven when they play Leitchville-Gunbower in the grand final at Huntly on Saturday.
“It will be a tough game,’’ Boyd said.
“Leitchville is a good side. Their full-forward (Matt) Perri is a very good player… he’s so quick. Hopefully, the boys play well and we win another flag.”
Win or lose, Boyd will be back at Atkins Street on Saturday night for a couple of “lemonades” with his Bulldog family.
