While he hasn’t been as dominant as he was last year when he polled 31 votes to win, Mean Machine skipper Broadbent has put together another solid season.
Other contenders for the medal shape as Newbridge pair Jordan Gilboy and Tyler Romeril, Calivil United ruckman Chris Down and Pyramid Hill’s Billy Micevski, while Mitiamo’s Luke Scott also played some superb football, particularly in the first half of the season.
And could Marong’s Jarrod Fitzpatrick as the clear standout for the Panthers have caught the attention of the umpires often enough to be a sneaky chance?
In the A grade netball, potential leading candidates include Mitiamo goal attack Laura Hicks – a three-time winner already – Bridgewater centre Stacey Rothacker, Newbridge captain Jane Reid and Pyramid Hill goaler Zoe Kennedy.
