Related: Prepare for frost and snow!
UPDATE Monday 11.30am: Snow is again dusting the top of the Macedon Ranges, which experienced a smattering of the white stuff at the weekend.
The Top of the Range Tea Rooms camera, at the peak of Mount Macedon, is capturing the snow as it falls.
Bendigo might not have snow, but it has not escaped the wintry weather, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting a top of just 10 degrees for Monday.
Castlemaine is expected to reach a maximum temperature of 9 degrees, Maryborough 10 degrees, Echuca 12 degrees, and Kyneton a chilly 7 degrees.
Saturday: IF you’re nice and warm in bed this morning, then you might want to stay there.
It was a cold night with temperatures in Bendigo just above freezing – but further south it was even colder.
A light sprinkling of snow has been reported at Mount Macedon, one of the first sprinklings of the winter.
The Top of the Range Tea Rooms live stream shows a small amount of white coverage, but not enough to make a snowman – yet!
More snow could fall in the morning above 500 metres, extending to above 900 metres throughout the day.
The Bureau of Meteorology is also forecasting possible hail and showers at Mount Macedon later today.
While most of the state will see heavy rain, there is unlikely to be a single drop in Bendigo. So get out and enjoy the sunshine… once it warms up a touch!
