Brady Stone started a petition to bring such a service to all of Huntly, after moving to Viewpoint estate and discovering he could not receive mail at home and instead had to pick it up.
An Australia Post spokesperson said eligible residents would soon receive a poll voting form on a possible change to mail delivery.
“After recently surveying the Huntly area, Australia Post is satisfied that safety conditions in relation to local construction have improved and is open to reviewing the current mail delivery arrangements,” the spokesperson said.
“As part of this review, Australia Post will conduct a mail poll of eligible residents, giving residents a fair say on whether or not to change the way mail is delivered.”
“The change will only take place if there is wide community support where more than 50 per cent of residents vote in favour of the change.”
Mr Stone said he was confident the poll would support a home delivery service.
“Once they start talking to everyone in the area… they’ll realise it’s long overdue,” he said.
He thanked those who supported the campaign and said he was glad Australia Post had listened.
