The point guard has not played since being injured in the Lady Braves' 84-61 win over Frankston Blues on June 24.
Wilson finished the match with 16 points and seven assists, but it was not until later that week she learned she had played with a broken thumb.
The injury has dual implications for Wilson, who is also playing BFNL netball for Golden Square this season.
She played no part in the Bulldogs' 71-43 round 11 win over Strathfieldsaye and last weekend's 55-75 loss to top side Sandhurst.
Wilson hoped to be available for the Lady Braves' final regular season game against Melbourne Tigers on August 5.
"I'm definitely on the road to recovery - it's healing well, so I think probably two more games on the sidelines and I will be able to play," she said.
"It's obviously frustrating being on the sidelines, but there's not much I can do about it.
"But it's given me a different perspective (on the game).
"While it was a disappointing (last) weekend to lose to Geelong by so much, we did win the night before against Frankston, so 1-1 is not that bad of a weekend."
Despite the Braves also being without young gun Chloe Bibby, who is in Italy for the Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup, Wilson was confident the Lady Braves could topple arch-rival Ballarat on Saturday night.
"In SEABL, any team on any given night can beat any team - if we play as well as we know we can play and how the girls have played previously, yes we can beat Ballarat," she said.
"But that goes both ways."
Wilson admits she was probably more frustrated missing out on Golden Square's top of the ladder clash against Sandhurst, won in convincing fashion by the Dragons.
"The first quarter we were down by a lot, so it was really hard watching," she said.
"Sandhurst is an extremely well-oiled netball team.
"Right now at Golden Square, we're struggling very much with injuries, so I think the girls who played did very well to keep playing to the very end of the game."
The Bulldogs face another testing encounter this weekend against fourth-placed Eaglehawk, with the Bullodgs looking to rebound from a loss and the Hawks from a draw with Strathfieldsaye.
Wilson is currently preparing for her 16th WNBL season and fifth in Townsville.
The former WNBL rookie of the year and two-time championship player with Bendigo Spirit was unsure what impact that would have on her availability for netball finals.
"I think with SEABL I'll be fine with the way the draw has worked out, but with netball I'm not 100 per cent sure," she said.
"I'm still waiting like everyone else for the WNBL to put out a draw out.
"Until they do I don't know. I guess that was always the risk with me playing netball and SEABL, whether I was going to play WNBL."
