THE Bendigo Dragons have some work ahead of them after slumping to their third straight loss of the Gridiron Victoria division two season.

Playing at MacPherson Park Recreation Reserve in Melton, the Dragons fell 22-18 to the Western Crusaders.

It followed losses in their home opener against the Northern Raiders and last week to the Melton Wolves.

The Dragons led 10-8 at half time and held an 18-14 advantage early in the final quarter following a touchdown and conversion from Harrison Luke.

But a touchdown and conversion in the fourth delivered a third straight win to the Crusaders, who head the league ladder.

The Dragons return to the Tom Flood Sports Centre this Saturday against CCU.
