The Blazers won a tough match 2-1 against Brunswick on the weekend.
Blazers dominated early through strong attacking plays and were rewarded through their first goal by Tracey Johnson off a short corner.
Blazers continued to build the pressure, but couldn’t add to their lead in the first half.
The second half was a tough arm-wrestle, with plenty of chances going begging in front of goal. A second goal by Johnson gave the Blazers some breathing space. Brunswick scored with two minutes remaining, but Blazers were able to hold on for a great win.
The women's Vic League One reserves side dominated from start to finish in its comprehensive 6-1 win over Brunswick.
A brilliant hat-trick to captain Sally Anderson, a double to Maddie Burt and a single by Clare McClenaghan put the result beyond doubt. The win sees the reserves sitting one-point clear in third place on the ladder.
In other results, the Blazers Vic League two men's side had a 2-2 draw with Monash University, while the men's reserves went down to Monash University 4-0.
Next Saturday the Blazers play Powerhouse/St Kilda at home from 2pm.
