It was an all-Bendigo success, with the first-starter being ridden brilliantly in the 1100m maiden by jockey John Keating, who shot the gelding to the front about 300m from the winning post after being handily placed on the turn.
Keating said niggling leg injuries had prevented Kharnmosh from making his racetrack debut earlier than Monday.
"In track work I've ridden him a lot and he stops when he is in front - I was just worried I was left in front so soon at the 300," he said.
"But a couple of cuts with the stick, he managed to hold on alright."
"He'll definitely get up to 1400m or a mile, possibly even further."
The ride on Kharnmosh was only Keating's fourth since returning from a one-week break in Noosa, for his second win.
His previous winner was aboard the Echuca -trained Sundell at Wangaratta last Thursday.
