Trio to make TAC Cup debuts for Bendigo Pioneers against Geelong

THREE players will make their debuts for the Rural Bank Bendigo Pioneers on Sunday as part of the first of three Futures Rounds in the TAC Cup.

Bottom-age players Hunter Lawrence, Bailey Waasdorp and Connor O’Shea will play their first under-18 games for the Pioneers against the Geelong Falcons at the QEO from 1pm.

The side also includes Leyton Chisholm for his first game of the season.

For the three Futures Rounds TAC Cup clubs must play 11 bottom-age players among their squad of 24.

Sunday’s first-gamers will be presented with their jumpers by 1997 Pioneers’ captain John Hardinge as part of a new initiative introduced by coach Rick Coburn this season.

The Falcons (8-1) are on top of the ladder, while the Pioneers (3-6) sit 10th at the halfway mark of the season.
