UPDATE Tuesday 3.18pm: A CYCLIST injured following a collision at Jackass Flat was in a satisfactory condition, a Bendigo Health spokesperson said.
The 45-year-old Bendigo man sustained a fracture in his elbow as a result of the crash, which occurred on Howard Street just before 5pm on Monday.
UPDATE 8.44pm: POLICE have highlighted concerns with the stretch of road on which the crash occurred.
Bendigo Leading Senior Constable Carol Parry said the cyclist and the driver were travelling in the same direction along Howard Street when the crash occurred.
“They had passed Burnside Road and were heading towards Eaglehawk,” she said.
“There is no shoulder to the road so it is quite dangerous to cyclists.”
“A road bike has to be on the road.”
Police investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
Leading Senior Constable Parry said the injured cyclist was a 45-year-old Bendigo man.
EARLIER: A CYCLIST has been taken to Bendigo hospital with arm injuries following a crash in Jackass Flat.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Howard Street and Burnside Road just before 5pm, where a pushbike and a vehicle collided.
A man, in his 30s, was taken to Bendigo hospital in a stable condition, an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.
The crash in Jackass Flat comes after a car and a group of cyclists collided on Black Forest Road in Macedon this morning.
