IF you thought our wintry mornings were cold, while dreading leaving a warm bed, imagine spending them on the streets.
An outdoor, camping and adventure store is seeking to help those in need by collecting second-hand snow gear.
The old and unwanted items will be distributed to people experiencing homelessness, to help them weather the winter months.
Anaconda and snow brand XTM Performance have called for donations of clean and undamaged snow jackets, thermals, gloves, pants, hats, and other winter apparel.
A collection box will be available at the Bendigo store from the end of the week.
“This great initiative is a chance for us to give to those less fortunate,” store manager Gavin Exell said.
“Your old, unwanted snow gear will make a world of difference to those who go without.”
XTM collected and distributed nearly 3000 snow jackets last winter.
Temperatures in Bendigo dipped below freezing point on Monday morning for the first time this year.
