Epsom tops the ladder on goal difference from Shepparton United and Colts, but Shepparton United has played one less game than the Scorpions and two less than Colts.
The Scorpions moved to the top of the table on the back of a 6-2 win over Moama-Echuca.
A Tara Thomas hat-trick, two goals from Caitlin Robertson and one from Liz Watkins set up Epsom’s win.
Colts United scored its best win of the season when it defeated Eaglehawk 5-1 at Truscott Reserve.
Scores were level at 1-1 until a four-goal burst in 20 minutes from United blew the game apart.
Rebecca Berry was superb for Colts, scoring four times, while Kellie Moller added the fifth.
Brianna Hamblin was the only Eaglehawk player to score.
Spring Gully United and Swan Hill played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at Stanley Avenue.
Amanda Sgarioto and Meredith Cahill scored for the Reds, while Kara Lierich and Jess Hartland found the back of the net for a gallant Swan Hill.
Shepparton South outclassed Golden City 7-1. For Shepparton South, Lucinda Murdoch scored a hat-trick, Jasmine Vukcevic added two and Samantha Mackay and Brioni Serafini scored once each. 14-year-old Letesha Bawden was the sole goal scorer for the Rams.
After seven rounds the top six teams in the women’s championship are separated by just six points.
