In what will be one of their biggest sets, Josh Reed and Jimmy Winzar will kick off the action on The Plot stage at 11.50am on Saturday.
“We haven’t played anything of this calibre before, mainly just clubs for a couple of hundred people,” Winzar said.
“Hopefully few Bendigo people come along in the morning. It will be a good way to start off the day.
“We will play some upbeat tunes to get people going for the rest of the day. Nothing beats closing a big stage but for us this is a perfect slot.”
Winzar and Reed teamed up after realising their styles and tastes in music were very similar.
“We both had a big interest in electronic music as a whole and both played instruments across the years,” Reed said.
“It’s also a good outlet to mix music. We bought it into the club scene and have gone from there.
“We like to play a fun high-energy set with some mash-ups and nostaglic house songs.”
Both Reed and Winzar are eager to see American DJ Dillon Francis in the Moolin Rouge on Saturday.
“He's a big influence, we look up to him and love way he works his music,” Reed said.
“I’ve only missed one Groovin the Moo since it came to Bendigo in 2009. It just seems to get more popular and bigger each year.”
Before Jvmunji roll into GTM on Saturday, they will head up a warm-up party at Star Bar on Friday night.
“We play at midnight so there’s not much turn around (between Star Bar and GTM sets),” Winzar said.
“So we might have to take it a bit easy on Friday but we are really excited for Groovin the Moo. It should be a lot of fun.”
After GTM, Jvmunji will also play at the Bendigo Food Truck Festival on May 12.
