Police have confirmed an Israeli-American teenager charged with making thousands of fake bomb and shooting threats was responsible for a hoax which led to the evacuation of a Bendigo primary school in January last year.

Bendigo’s Violet Street Primary School was one of a number of Victorian schools evacuated on January 29 after receiving a threatening automated phone call.
Police conducted a sweep of the school grounds at the time and classed the incident as a hoax.
On Friday, a Victoria Police spokesman confirmed the hoax was the work of 18-year-old Michael Ron David Kadar, who lives in the Israeli city of Ashkelon, and has been charged by Israeli authorities with making 2000 automated bomb and shooting hoax calls to schools, airlines, hospitals and Jewish centres in the US, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Israel.
The Bendigo hoax call was one of 591 made to Australian schools by the teenager from his his suburban bedroom for secret online bidders.
