Strathfieldsaye and Sandhurst make a delayed start to the 2017 season, after all eight other teams fronted up for battle on Good Friday.
The game will be highlighted by a trio of A-grade coaching debuts, with Storm star Aleisha Langdon taking over the reins from Melissa Ryan, while at Sandhurst, former Heathcote District league premiership coach Tamara Gilchrist has crossed from North Bendigo to share the responsibilities alongside 2015 Betty Thompson Medallist Heather Oliver.
Interviewed for the Advertiser’s season preview, Langdon said a return to finals, after the Storm missed post-season action in 2016, was a priority for her team.
"It's going to be a very exciting year for netball, a lot of the clubs have recruited very well," she said.
Langdon predicted a bright future for Kate Salvador, who is stepping up from last season’s 17-and-under team.
