NEW Huntly coach Emily Eliades says she can't wait for Saturday to arrive.
The Hawks have endured a delayed start to the HDFNL netball season courtesy of an opening round bye.
That has only served to make the Hawks more eager to get cracking against first round victors North Bendigo.
"I think the girls are going to come out guns blazing, so to speak, because they had last week off," Eliades said.
"They were a bit jealous with everyone else out there playing.
"I think they are really eager to get started.
The Hawks have Jayeden Quinn and Kim Bell unavailable for the clash against the Bulldogs.
Eliades believed North Bendigo would be out to prove a point after surviving a tough battle against Heathcote last week.
"I'm sure they would want a bigger win this week, but we'll be raring to go.
"We've had a great attendance rate at training during pre-season.
"The girls have worked hard and are very fit. They're a very coachable bunch and have been able to implement into games what we've been doing at training.
"I'm a bit nervous being the first game, but I think once the first whistle blows I'll be ok."
Stacey Saddlier will captain the Hawks this season.
North Bendigo will be a formidable opponent after finding their groove in the second half of last week's contest against the Saints.
Samantha McDougall provide plenty of drive from the midcourt, while Lauren Oates and Ruby Scanlon were strong in goals.
In other games, Lockington-Bamawm United and Elmore clash will be looking for their first win of the season when they clash at Lockington, and White Hills hosts Heathcote.
Leitchville-Gunbower has the bye.
